Library Card

What do I need to do to get a library card?

The Lebanon Public Library is open to all residents and property owners in Center Township. Townships pay for residents living in Clinton Township.

Library cards are issued free of charge, including replacement cards.

All residents 18 and older must provide proof of their address and photo identification. Parents or guardians can sign children up for cards, but the child must be present for the registration process.

For more information, visit our Get a Card page.

How do I get a card for my children?
A parent or legal guardian showing proper identification may register a minor child for an Evergreen Indiana library card.

To get library cards for your children you will need an up-to-date Indiana Drivers License or State ID with a valid address that proves you live in Center Township.

If you do not live in Center Township your children may be eligible for student cards if they live in the boundaries of the Lebanon School Corporation and attend any of the schools in the corporation.

The schools in the Lebanon School Corporation include Central Elementary, Harney Elementary, Hattie B. Stokes Elementary, Perry-Worth Elementary, Lebanon Middle School and the Lebanon High School. Your children will need to be with you at the time of application for their cards.

Can I get a card if I live in temporary housing or a nursing home?
You can! Before you can receive your card, you will need a sponsor to sign a form. You will be given a transitional (blue) card, which will be active for 3 months. You may check out 3 items on your card.

For Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home residents, the sponsor is required to be present.

Interlibrary Loan

What is an interlibrary loan?

Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, gives library patrons the opportunity to borrow materials from other Evergreen libraries through Lebanon Public Library.

Who can use an interlibrary loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service is provided to library cardholders. To place a request, a patron must be in good standing with less than $10 in fines.

How do I request an item through an interlibrary loan?

An Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request may be placed at any circulation desk or through the patron’s Evergreen account. Requests will take approximately one week to fulfill, but could take longer depending on availability of the item. However, multiple requests may arrive at different times. The Library will contact the patron when any materials are available for pick up.

How long do I get to keep an interlibrary loan?

Lending libraries may establish loan periods that differ from those of the Lebanon Public Library. The patron must agree to abide by the loan restrictions placed upon the materials by the lending libraries. Renewals of these items also depend on the lending library’s policies.

How much does getting an item through an interlibrary loan cost?

The Lebanon Public Library does not charge patrons for items requested from other Evergreen libraries.

Library Closure

The Lebanon Public Library will be closed from October 28th – November 16th  25th as our current renovation project moves to the front entryway of the building.

We encourage our users to visit some of the other wonderful libraries in the Evergreen Consortium during this time, including our friends at the Thorntown Public Library and the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library.
