Storytime at Lebanon Public Library: Cultivating a Love for Reading

Engaging Activities for Every Child
During Storytime, children will enjoy a variety of activities designed to foster their love for reading. We will read captivating stories, sing joyful songs, play with delightful puppets, and create fun crafts. Each session is packed with engaging activities that not only entertain but also educate.
Preparing for Independent Reading
Our program follows the five key tips from Every Child Ready to Read, which prepare children to become confident readers. These tips are:
- Reading: Listening to and reading stories.
- Talking: Engaging in conversations to build vocabulary.
- Singing: Learning through songs and rhythm.
- Writing: Developing fine motor skills and understanding letters.
- Playing: Encouraging imagination and social skills through play.

Every month, we explore different themes to keep Storytime fresh and exciting. Here are the themes for this month:

Inclusive and Interactive Experience
No registration is required to join Storytime, and we welcome children of all ages. We encourage caregivers to participate actively in our sessions. Singing songs, performing action rhymes, and joining in other activities alongside the children show them that we are never too old to enjoy the magic of storytelling. This shared experience enhances the bond between children and their caregivers, making Storytime a cherished family activity.
