Study rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis in the children’s department or main floor. Meeting room must be reserved in advance.
General Services
High School Equivalency Class
Earn your high school diploma by attending a class hosted by Washington Township on the bottom floor of the Lebanon Public Library. Classes are held Tuesday thru Thursday from 10 am – 2 pm.

The Adult Basic Education Class is held at the Lebanon Public Library through Washington Township. It is a continuous education program for those who need a high school diploma equivalent. What was formerly called the GED (General Education Diploma) is now referred to as the HSE (High School Equivalency) and once you have completed these classes, you will feel comfortable with your ability to pass the HSE examination.
To get started, you will need to attend a class to get registered. You do NOT need to set up an appointment, just come to any of the classes listed. Once you are registered, you will begin the process to determine your current abilities in reading, language, and math. Then an individualized program will be set up by the instructor for you to complete at your own pace. This process can take anywhere from three weeks to a few years. After 40 hours of class time, you will be given an assessment to check your progress and update your personalized plan.
In addition to committing yourself to class time, you are also expected to work on 2 hours of homework, called distance learning, each week. Students that dedicate time to the distance learning are more apt to finish the classes with a better understanding of the material and do better on the HSE exam. Do not cheat yourself; your daily goal is to gain more knowledge and proficiency in order to achieve a positive end result.
When you achieve the necessary level of competency in basic subjects, you will take a pre-test for the HiSet. Your HiSet test will be free for those subjects you have passed in the pre-test.
Do you have your sights set on bigger goals? During these classes, you will be connected to agencies like Work One that may be able to provide you with free education and/or training that can result in certification in select fields. You can also receive help with preparation for the college application process.

Indiana Library Passport
The Indiana State Library Foundation is leading a state-wide exploration event that encourages Hoosiers to visit over 140 participating libraries throughout the state. Passport holders will check-in on the app to earn points and chances to win quarterly drawings.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, gives library patrons the opportunity to borrow materials from other Evergreen libraries through Lebanon Public Library.

This service is provided at no cost to cardholders in good standing (less than $10 in fines). We can not place interlibrary loan requests for patrons with transitional cards.
All requests can either be placed at our circulation desks or online through your Evergreen account. Requests will take approximately one week to fulfill, but could take longer depending on availability of the item. Multiple requests may arrive at different times. The patron will receive either an automated phone call, an email, or a text when any materials are available for pick up.
Lending libraries may establish loan periods that differ from those of the Lebanon Public Library. The patron must agree to abide by the loan restrictions placed upon the materials by the lending libraries. Renewals of these items also depend on the lending library’s policies.
Museum Passes
With your library card you can borrow admission passes to the Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum, and the Indiana Historical Society. Call the library to check availability and reserve your passes.

How to Obtain Passes
Contact the library to schedule a date to reserve the pass. Passes are reserved for 3 days. On your reservation date, come to the library to check out the pass with your library card.
Indiana State Museum
This pass entitles the bearer to 4 complimentary general admission tickets to the Indiana State Museum. Additional special exhibition or programming fees may apply. $5 parking is available in the White River State Park parking garage located directly beneath the museum. Indiana Historical Society
This pass admits 2 adults and 4 children to the Eugene and Marilyn Glick History Center. It also gives discounts on custom workshops, Basile History Markey, and the Stardust Terrace Cafe. Parking is free. For more information about the museum, visit their website.
Eiteljorg Museum
This pass admits 4 adults and children 17 years and under. Also enjoy a 15% discount at the museum store, 10% discount at the cafe and access to the Time Travelers program. Free parking available in the White River State Park garage (except during Indiana Market & Festival and July 4th). For more information about the museum, visit their website.

Connecting with our community
Homebound Services
We offer homebound delivery services to people who are unable to visit the library due to physical disabilities, extended illnesses, and more. Anybody in Center Township can apply for this service.
Items eligible for delivery include books and audiobooks, magazines, movies and TV series, video games, and music CDs.

Roving Books
We are proud to bring the joy of reading to individuals who are unable to visit the library through the Roving Books program.
Healing Words
We maintain a free book cart at Witham Memorial Hospital. The cart is available to all who visit the hospital, and individuals may keep the materials as long as they’d like.
Children
We bring the library to children in daycare, schools, and summer camps who do not have the opportunity to visit the library with a parent or caregiver.
Literacy for Inmates
We give donated books to Boone County Jail inmates while other organizations are working to promote literacy to inmates.
Computers & Technology
Connecting with our community
Free Wifi
To connect to our Wi-Fi, select the Lebanon_Library network and enjoy free wireless Internet! We do not currently offer wireless printing.
DISC REPAIR
For $3 per disc, our disc repair machine in the AV Department can resurface CDs and DVDs. However, if your Blu-ray is severely scratched, our machine cannot repair it.
PRINTING, COPYING, & FAXING
Printing is only available from the library’s computers and is a prepaid service. To add money to your print account, see one of the staff members on the main floor. We do not currently offer wireless printing.

Computer Access
We have computers on the main floor, in the Heritage Center, and in the children’s department. A library card is not required to use a computer, but those who wish to use our computers without a library card must obtain a guest pass at the circulation desk.
If you do have a library card, enter your full card number as the username and your 4-digit pin as your password.
Equipment Loans
We lend out video game controllers for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch systems at no cost. This service is offered on a first come, first serve basis. Those who wish to check out a video game controller must be 18 or older and sign an agreement prior to checking out a controller for the first time. Controllers are lent out for one week and have no renewals.

OTHER EQUIPMENT
We have some equipment that does not require the borrower to have a library card, but they require a deposit that will be returned when the equipment is returned. Below is the list of equipment we have and the corresponding deposit required:

To ensure that the item is available for your project or event, please call the library at (765) 482-3460 in advance or visit the AV Department to book the equipment.
Technology help
Our library staff can help you connect to the library’s Wi-Fi, assist you with printing, help you set up your Libby (by OverDrive) account, and guide you through our databases and other software. We cannot perform repairs or extensively troubleshoot your equipment. We do not currently offer technology classes on a regular basis, but when we do, you can find out about them on our calendar.
